What information do we collect?

We collect three types of information:

    1. Information You Give Us. We receive and store any information you provide in relation to Tru Services, including your full legal name, work email address, date of birth, and the entities (companies) you represent. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to take full advantage of many of our Tru Services, or you may not be able to access them at all. If you participate in certain Tru features, you may be prompted for further additional information.
    2. Automatic Information. We automatically collect and store certain types of information about your use of Tru Services, including information about your interaction with products, content, and services available through Tru Services. Like many websites, we use "cookies" and other unique identifiers, and we obtain certain types of information when your web browser or device accesses Tru Services and other content served by or on behalf of Tru on other websites.
    3. Entity Information. We collect information on the entities that you configure and represent on the Tru Services, including the registration date of the entity, the jurisdiction where it was registered, the legal name and identifying information of beneficial owners of the company, the entity's legal structure, the supply chain roles and functions of the entity, the industries the entity operates in, the certificates or licenses the entity has, and the jurisdictions in which the entity operates (which is defined by the government of each jurisdiction).

What is the purpose of collecting this information?

  • We collect this information to provide and personalize Tru Services to you, to comply with legal obligations, and to communicate with you. Specifically:
    • We use your personal information to provide functionality, analyze performance, fix errors, and improve the usability and effectiveness of the Tru Services.
    • We use your personal information to recommend features, products, and services that might be of interest to you, identify your preferences, and personalize your experience with Tru Services.
    • We use your personal information to comply with laws, including collecting information from Principals regarding place of establishment and bank account information for identity verification and other purposes.
    • We use your personal information to communicate with you in relation to Tru Services via different channels (e.g., by phone, email, chat).

How and when is information shared with 3rd parties?

We share information with other entities only at your explicit request.

How do we protect your information?

Data is encrypted both in-transit and at-rest in our database. We follow industry best-practices to protect your information and maintain the security of our platform.

GDPR and CCPA compliance:

We are compliant with GDPR and CCPA standards. To comply with these standards, we collect and process your personal information in accordance with applicable laws, and you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal information. We also obtain your explicit consent before collecting and processing your personal information in certain circumstances.

Can you delete your data?

Yes, you can delete your data by contacting us through the Tru Services platform. However, some data is shared with third-parties as a required part of their supply chain data, and is irrevocable once provided. Some information also cannot be deleted, and you can leearn more about the terms that apply to this data, below. You will be explicitly informed any time you are providing irrevocably committed information.

What types of data cannot be deleted?

The only types of data that cannot be deleted are the registered name of your company, the jurisdiction that it is registered in, your attestation of the above facts, as well as the supply chain roles and functions that you declare. If you choose to add this information, you also irrevocably commit your certificates/licenses that you possess, however, you can update them, or ‘archive’ them by setting an expiry date.

Any data which is created and cannot be deleted will always be associated with your ‘entity record’ in the Tru system. If you choose to delete your account or account data, you can always claim that account again at a later date by proving your identity.

What happens to my data in the case of a change of ownership?

In the event of an acquisition or merger of Tru, your personal information may be transferred to the new entity as part of the transaction. If this happens, we will notify you before your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Furthermore, Tru may also share your personal information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Tru Services, or in conducting our business, subject to appropriate confidentiality and security measures. These service providers may include cloud service providers, payment processors, data analysis firms, and customer support providers. We only share your personal information with these third-party service providers to the extent necessary for them to perform their services for us, and they are prohibited from using your personal information for any other purposes.

We take reasonable steps to ensure that any third-party service providers we work with are compliant with all applicable privacy laws and regulations.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or to reflect changes in applicable laws and regulations. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will provide notice through the Tru Services or by other means so that you may review the changes before continuing to use Tru Services. Your continued use of the Tru Services after any changes to this Privacy Policy indicates your agreement to the revised terms.
